In this blend, CJC-1295 without DAC — the DPP-4-resistant 29-residue GHRH analogue better known as Modified GRF (1-29) — is paired with GHRP-6, the hexapeptide from which the whole growth hormone-releasing peptide class grew. GHRP-6 was developed in the 1980s from met-enkephalin analogues, long before ghrelin had been found, and work on it led scientists to the receptor now called the growth hormone secretagogue receptor. Ghrelin was identified later as that receptor's natural ligand.

GHRP-6 lacks selectivity — and that is exactly why researchers still use it. Besides releasing growth hormone, it strongly stimulates appetite via central ghrelin receptors and, at higher exposure, measurably raises cortisol and prolactin.
