It is made from the cerebral cortex of mammals and then fractionated, so that the final product consists of water-soluble peptides below roughly 10 kilodaltons, accompanied by free amino acids and trace minerals. It belongs to the same group of peptide products from Russia and Eastern Europe as Cerebrolysin, and neuropeptide research frequently discusses the two in the same breath.
