GHRP-2 (pralmorelin) is a synthetic six-residue agonist of the growth hormone secretagogue receptor, GHS-R1a. Its sequence, D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, derives from the enkephalin-based GHRP-6 template: a D-2-naphthylalanine in position 2 raised potency considerably, and an N-terminal D-alanine protects against aminopeptidases.

GHRP-2 was among the compounds that showed the secretagogue receptor to be a target separate from the GHRH receptor — years before ghrelin was recognised as its natural ligand.
