## Description

MGF (Mechano Growth Factor) is the peptide corresponding to the E-domain at the C-terminal end of IGF-1 Ec — a splice variant of insulin-like growth factor 1 that skeletal muscle makes for a short time after being loaded mechanically or injured. What we supply is that 24-residue E-domain on its own, without the mature IGF-1 part of the parent protein — which is why its effects in cell culture and in animals are studied separately from classic IGF-1 signalling.

Interest in MGF arose from exercise-physiology findings that the Ec transcript surges in loaded muscle and then subsides within days, mirroring the period in which satellite cells are recruited.
