## Description

The three compounds in this kit approach one broad research question from different directions. NAD+ is the coenzyme that shuttles electrons in metabolism and is consumed by sirtuins, PARPs and CD38 — the basic currency of research on redox balance and DNA repair. MOTS-c is a 16-residue peptide encoded by mitochondrial DNA and investigated in models of AMPK signalling and one-carbon metabolism. SS-31 is a four-residue peptide that alternates aromatic and positively charged amino acids and is studied because it reportedly binds cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane and shapes the folds (cristae) of that membrane.
