## Description

Ovagen is a synthetic three-residue peptide — L-glutamyl-L-aspartyl-L-leucine, abbreviated Glu-Asp-Leu or EDL. It belongs to Vladimir Khavinson's programme of short peptide bioregulators, in which tissue-derived peptide preparations were whittled down to defined di-, tri- and tetrapeptides that could be made reproducibly and analysed precisely.

Chemically, EDL combines the acidic Glu-Asp motif found throughout the series with a hydrophobic leucine at the C-terminus — in effect the tripeptide counterpart to the end of Bronchogen. We supply Ovagen in a 20 mg lyophilised vial, made by solid-phase peptide synthesis and HPLC-purified to a ≥99% specification, with the certificate of analysis for the lot available. Sold for laboratory research only.
