## Description

This spray contains the identical 28-residue thymus peptide found in our freeze-dried vial, but dissolved in a water-based vehicle with a preservative and filled into a brown glass bottle with a metering pump for the nose. Thymosin alpha-1 is the 1–28 fragment of prothymosin alpha — its first 28 amino acids — with an acetyl group on the first one; it was originally isolated from thymus tissue and has been researched for decades for its role in how T cells mature and in innate immune signalling.

Why a spray? As a powder, the molecule is awkward to handle in small amounts: at around 3.1 kDa it is very hydrophilic and strongly charged, so sub-milligram weighings easily lose material to static and vial walls. The ready-mixed format removes reconstitution altogether and gives every press the same nominal peptide load — valuable for studies of mucosal delivery, nasal deposition and solution stability, where a reliable starting concentration counts for more than a custom dilution.

## Frequently asked questions

### Spray versus lyophilised vial — what changes?

The molecule is identical — the acetylated 28-residue peptide, HPLC purity ≥99%. What changes is the format: the spray is supplied already dissolved in a preserved water-based liquid with a metering pump, so there's no weighing, no reconstitution and no transferring powder, and every spray contains the same nominal amount.

### How pure is the peptide in the spray?

The bulk peptide is HPLC-tested to ≥99% before it is formulated, and the lot certificate is available on request. The COA relates to the peptide input; your fill lot's label shows the nominal peptide loading.

### How do the 15 mL and 30 mL bottles differ?

Only the amount of liquid. Both are filled from one batch of solution at one nominal strength, so the 30 mL bottle simply holds twice as much — and picking it means fewer changes of lot during a longer study.

### Must the bottle be refrigerated?

Yes: store it upright at 2–8 °C, protected from light. Peptides break down faster in solution than when freeze-dried, and keeping them cold slows the loss of amide groups and oxidation. Never freeze a filled bottle — neither the glass nor the pump is made to survive freezing and thawing.

### Can I dilute or transfer the solution for assays?

For analysis, researchers normally draw off a portion into a separate container rather than spraying it out. If you dilute it, write down which diluent you used, the pH of the buffer and the final concentration, because how stable this peptide stays in solution depends on pH and temperature.
