Here Dihexa comes as a ready-to-use intranasal solution rather than a lyophilised vial. Dihexa — N-hexanoic-Tyr-Ile-(6)-aminohexanoic amide — is a peptidomimetic derived from angiotensin IV and is investigated for reportedly enhancing hepatocyte growth factor signalling through the c-Met receptor and for effects on dendritic spine density in hippocampal cultures. The compound in the bottle is exactly the same as our lyophilised Dihexa: CAS 1401708-83-5, C24H37N3O4, 439.55 g/mol.

A special formulation is needed because Dihexa is intentionally lipophilic and barely dissolves in water. The nasal research solution therefore relies on a co-solvent system to keep it dissolved and on a metered pump to dispense a reproducible volume with each press. Neuroscience labs are interested in intranasal delivery because olfactory and trigeminal pathways have been proposed as a way to reach the central nervous system while avoiding first-pass metabolism — though that remains an open research question, not an established fact.

Questions about Dihexa Nasal Spray

How is the spray different from the Dihexa vial?

The molecule is the same. The spray arrives already dissolved in a co-solvent vehicle at a set concentration, with a metered pump, so nothing needs reconstituting. The vial lets you choose concentration and solvent; the spray offers reproducibility.

What is the concentration?

It is printed on the lot label of your bottle, as it is not identical for every lot. Combined with the pump output of roughly 0.1 mL per press, that figure lets you calculate the amount delivered per spray in your protocol.

Why does the solution contain a co-solvent?

Dihexa's hexanoic chain and aminohexanoic amide make it strongly lipophilic, so it barely dissolves in plain water. A co-solvent keeps it in solution at a workable concentration in a water-based spray.

Which purity documents are available?

The Dihexa used for each batch is HPLC-purified to ≥99%, and the lot's certificate of analysis covers purity and identity. Send us the lot number from the bottle and we will forward the COA.

How do I store the bottle?

In the fridge at 2–8 °C, upright and shielded from light — never frozen. Write the opening date on the label and keep the period of use short, because peptides break down faster in solution than as powder.
