Its sequence, D-Ala-D-2-Nal-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2, derives from the enkephalin-based GHRP-6 template: a D-2-naphthylalanine in position 2 raised potency considerably, and an N-terminal D-alanine protects against aminopeptidases.
