Crystagen is the linear synthetic tripeptide Glu-Asp-Pro (EDP), delivered as a 20 mg lyophilised vial. It is one of the short peptide bioregulators that came out of Vladimir Khavinson's work at the St Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology — a programme that first isolated low-molecular-weight peptide fractions from animal tissues and then searched for short synthetic sequences meant to mimic them.
In that family Crystagen is listed as the peptide for the immune system, the synthetic partner to thymus-derived preparations such as Thymalin, which we also stock. Its relatives are easy to map: Vilon, the Lys-Glu dipeptide, is tied to the same tissue, while Cortagen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Pro), Cardiogen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Arg) and Bronchogen (Ala-Glu-Asp-Leu) all start with Ala-Glu-Asp. Because EDP is identical to the last three residues of Cortagen, the two make a handy comparison pair.

Questions about Crystagen
What sequence does Crystagen have?
EDP — the linear tripeptide Glu-Asp-Pro with unmodified N- and C-termini and a calculated mass near 359.3 g/mol. These are the same three residues that end Cortagen, which is why researchers like to test the two side by side.
How is it different from Thymalin?
Thymalin is a polypeptide complex from tissue, containing many peptides and lacking one defined mass or sequence. Crystagen is a single synthetic tripeptide. Both are linked to the same organ system, but as materials they are fundamentally different.
What purity paperwork do you provide?
We analyse every lot by reverse-phase HPLC to a minimum of 99% and confirm identity by mass spectrometry; the certificate for your vial's lot number is sent on request. The MS check is important because very short peptides give only a weak UV signal.
How should Crystagen be reconstituted and stored?
Bacteriostatic or sterile water dissolves it easily with a gentle swirl — no organic solvent needed. Store the lyophilised vial at −20 °C away from light and damp; keep the reconstituted solution at 2–8 °C, in the dark, for the length of the study.
