Ovagen is a synthetic three-residue peptide — L-glutamyl-L-aspartyl-L-leucine, abbreviated Glu-Asp-Leu or EDL. It belongs to Vladimir Khavinson's programme of short peptide bioregulators, in which tissue-derived peptide preparations were whittled down to defined di-, tri- and tetrapeptides that could be made reproducibly and analysed precisely.
Chemically, EDL combines the acidic Glu-Asp motif found throughout the series with a hydrophobic leucine at the C-terminus — in effect the tripeptide counterpart to the end of Bronchogen. We supply Ovagen in a 20 mg lyophilised vial, made by solid-phase peptide synthesis and HPLC-purified to a ≥99% specification, with the certificate of analysis for the lot available. Sold for laboratory research only.

Questions about Ovagen
What is Ovagen made of?
It is EDL — the synthetic tripeptide Glu-Asp-Leu — from Khavinson's series of short bioregulator peptides, delivered as lyophilised powder in a sealed vial together with a certificate of analysis for its lot.
Which tissue does it relate to?
Accounts vary. Much of the Russian literature places EDL in the context of the liver and protein synthesis, while other summaries associate the name with reproductive tissue. We state this ambiguity openly so that researchers check which tissue the paper they cite actually examined.
Can I get a certificate of analysis?
Yes. Lots are HPLC-tested against a ≥99% purity specification, and on request you receive the COA with batch identifier, purity found, identity result and a description of the powder.
Why is the CAS field empty?
We found no widely recognised CAS number for EDL, so rather than invent or copy an unverified one we leave it blank. The peptide is identified by sequence, formula and weight — all confirmed on the lot certificate.
What storage does Ovagen need?
Unopened vials go in the freezer at −20 °C, protected from light and damp. Reconstituted solution can be refrigerated at 2–8 °C for the planned study; otherwise freeze it in single-use portions so it isn't thawed repeatedly.
