Epitalon — also spelled epithalon, and related to epithalamin — is a synthetic four-residue peptide, Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly. Vladimir Khavinson's team in St Petersburg created it as a short synthetic analogue of epithalamin, a peptide extract first obtained from the pineal gland. With a mass of 390.35 g/mol it ranks among the smallest peptides in routine research use, and it is part of the group known as Russian bioregulator peptides.
