This kit gathers three compounds that circadian and sleep researchers use again and again, packed as three individually sealed lyophilised vials instead of one mixture. The first is DSIP (delta sleep-inducing peptide), a naturally occurring nine-residue peptide, Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu; it was first extracted in the 1970s from the brain venous blood of rabbits in deep sleep and has been linked to EEG delta waves ever since. The second is Epitalon, the synthetic AEDG tetrapeptide that came out of pineal-extract research and is investigated for its effects on melatonin rhythms and telomerase. The third is melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine), the pineal hormone that tells vertebrate body clocks it is dark.
Used together they form a sensible panel, since each works at a separate level of the same system. Melatonin is itself the night-time signal. Epitalon is investigated as something that may tune the pineal gland, where that signal is made. DSIP, by contrast, is examined for its relationship to sleep stages in the EEG, not for any effect on clock timing. With all three, one study can compare the signal, a possible upstream regulator and an unrelated sleep-associated peptide side by side.

What does the Sleep Stack contain?
Three separate targets: DSIP (the nine-residue WAGGDASGE peptide) for work on sleep stages in the EEG, Epitalon (the tetrapeptide AEDG) for work on how the pineal gland is regulated, and melatonin (N-acetyl-5-methoxytryptamine) for work on its MT1 and MT2 receptors.
Do certificates of analysis come with it?
Yes — each vial carries a lot number of its own and a certificate for that lot, showing HPLC purity and, for the two peptides, identity by mass spectrometry. Ask for copies quoting the lot numbers and keep them with your lab notes.
Why must melatonin be handled differently?
Compared with the two peptides, it dissolves poorly in water, so stock solutions are usually made with a little co-solvent; once dissolved it is also damaged by light. Whichever co-solvent you choose has to be present in exactly the same amount in your vehicle controls — otherwise it becomes a variable you haven't accounted for.
Can I mix the three in one solution?
They are packed separately precisely so that combining them is your experimental choice, not a fixed formula. If a study requires co-administration, make up each solution on its own first, check compatibility at working concentration and always include single-agent arms.
Is this kit intended for personal use?
