Why investigate copper peptides in hair follicles? A handful of published observations explain the interest. GHK-Cu has been reported to change how much VEGF and other blood-vessel-promoting factors cells of the dermal papilla produce, to interact with the enzymes that remodel the extracellular matrix and, according to some papers, to influence 5-alpha reductase activity. As the dermal papilla is the signalling centre that runs the hair-growth cycle, anything that changes the behaviour of its cells in culture is routinely followed up in skin explants and in rodents.
A 1% w/v solution means 10 mg of GHK-Cu per millilitre — about 300 mg in the 30 mL bottle and about 600 mg in the 60 mL bottle. Those quantities are meant for applying again and again over a long follicle study; for assays, start from the powder instead. The blue colour is the copper complex and also serves as a quick stability test: reducing agents and chelating additives disrupt how the copper is held, and once the liquid has lost its colour it no longer contains the compound you set out to study. The base is a water-based leave-on liquid that leaves little residue and has no added fragrance, chosen so that thickness and occlusion don't become uncontrolled variables when you compare this format with the powder or the face serum.

Questions about GHK-Cu Hair & Scalp Solution
What does the hair and scalp solution contain?
GHK-Cu — copper(II) bound to glycyl-histidyl-lysine — at 1% w/v (10 mg per mL) in a water-based, fragrance-free leave-on liquid. Choose a 30 mL or a 60 mL dropper bottle; they contain the same solution and differ only in volume.
Why a thin solution instead of a cream?
In scalp and follicle models, the material must get down to the openings of the follicles without coating the hair in a film. A thin water-based base that leaves little residue stops thickness and occlusion from turning into uncontrolled variables, and makes it easy to apply repeatedly over a long study.
Has the GHK-Cu in this solution been tested, and can I see the COA?
Yes. Before use, the peptide input has to pass a ≥99% HPLC purity specification, and its identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry; request the raw-material certificate at any time. Each bottle is labelled with its own lot number, linking your records back to that document.
How do I store the solution?
Ideally in the fridge (2–8 °C), with the cap closed tight and away from light. Transfer what you need into a clean container rather than pouring leftovers back into the bottle, and write down the lot number and the date it was opened so you can trace your results to this fill.
How does this solution compare with GHK-Cu powder and the face serum?
All three use peptide to the same specification. The powder lets you make up your own base; the face serum is a water-based product for facial models; this solution is the leave-on format intended for the scalp. Using identical raw material ensures that differences you see come from the base, not from the peptide.
